HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM – On April 15, 2026, within the framework of the international exhibition HCMC FOODEX 2026, a historic milestone for Vietnamese cuisine was officially established. Guinness World Records has formally recognized the achievement for the "LARGEST DISPLAY OF 3D JELLY CAKES," bringing immense pride to the culinary and artisan community in the region.
A Masterpiece Crafted from 1,198 "Blooms" in 3D Jelly
The centerpiece of the exhibition was a large-scale display featuring 1,198 3D jelly cakes. These cakes were meticulously arranged to spell out the vibrant phrase "HCM FOODEX 2026."

Each letter of the record-breaking display was assembled from numerous individual round cakes, each containing intricate floral motifs. Remarkably, every detail was handcrafted by artisans, transforming each cake into a unique, transparent, and lifelike piece of art.

This event was the result of a successful international collaboration between the World Independent Association of Chefs in ASIA & Vietnam (WORLD IAC ASIA) and the International Jelly Art Development Association (IJA) from Taiwan (China).
A 3-Month Journey of Dedication
To earn the prestigious certification from Guinness, the team underwent an incredibly rigorous preparation process. According to Chef Tran Le Thanh Thien, President of WORLD IAC ASIA, the logistical and technical planning spanned over three months.

"We had to meet strict requirements regarding uniform size and food safety standards. The final printing and finishing stages were carried out continuously for three days and nights leading up to the opening to ensure the cakes remained fresh and structurally perfect," Chef Thien shared.
Notably, the program received high praise from the public for its zero-waste message. Following the official verification by the Guinness adjudicator, all 1,198 cakes were shared with visitors to enjoy right at the event, ensuring that the edible art served its primary purpose.
Elevating Vietnam’s 3D Jelly Art on the Global Stage
Setting this world record is more than just a numbers game; it is a significant step in promoting 3D jelly art—a culinary craft where Vietnam is considered a global leader. Vietnamese artisans are currently recognized worldwide for their unparalleled skill in "injecting" life into jelly.
The awarding of the record to the alliance between Vietnam and Taiwan (China) also highlights the spirit of international cooperation in spreading the unique aesthetic values of Asian cuisine to the world.

This achievement not only inspires the culinary community with its message of limitless creativity but also serves as a warm welcome from Vietnam’s food industry to international friends at HCMC FOODEX 2026.
